On rare occasions I'd get back an e-mail telling me they had some sort of reverse engineering project going on, and that I would hear from them regarding details, telling me to continue what I was doing. Other times they'd simply ask me if I still had problems and I would give them a, 'how did you get this problem, my modem is working fine' and they'd tell me to continue as I had started. The other rare case in which I don't hear from them, is in the case of a major problem. I have no idea what all Hauwei does in their labs, but often a major new feature, firmware update or whatever might be in the works... If I have a major problem, I'll send them a report, and wait for the reply to come back. When I make a change, I'm very careful. I make sure it's not too major so that I don't have to have to make a major engineering change, if this is not the case, I'd be careful not to change the settings of one of their very important dial plans, especially from the Analogue IP stack.
